Course detail
Student team project 2
FSI-0SP2 Acad. year: 2025/2026 Summer semester
The course aims to guide students towards responsibility in teamwork and to develop their soft skills, especially in time management, communication, and presentation. It also focuses on supporting active students who are interested in team projects, student teams, or are members of student teams.
Students are encouraged and guided to actively ask questions, communicate, and verify the progress of the project with advisors (mentors). For consultations, they can use scheduled hours or arrange individual meetings. Help can be found from classmates, mentors, project patrons, and instructors. The purpose of the course is to provide students with space for assisted self-education in soft skills through challenge-based learning on complex or long-term projects that require involvement from multiple disciplines.
Teaching takes place in teams of 3–10 members working on a selected project topic. Scheduled class time is used by students to attend workshops, presentations, independent team work, or consultations with project patrons.
The project team is formed from students of courses 0SP1–0SP10 (collectively referred to as 0SPx).
Students choose a topic from the list updated on August 31 and January 31 (published by 12:00) at the link below.
Alternatively, a topic can be proposed by a group of at least three students upon approval by the instructor. It is also possible and encouraged to continue working on a project developed in previous 0SPx courses – these projects are also listed in the topic list.
By signing up for a specific topic/project in the table, the student joins the project team.
Project topics are published here (accessible with a VUT account):

FSI students must choose a project no later than Friday of the 3rd week of the semester.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Points are awarded based on:
- Evaluation of project progress (the project need not be completed within one semester, but it must advance and the student must learn something through it). (0–15 points)
- Project and personal contribution presentation at the end of the semester. (0–55 points)
- Evaluation of team collaboration. (0–15 points)
- Evaluation by the course coordinator. (0–15 points)
The entire project team presents together. Students can choose between the presentation in week 13 or the second week of the exam period (per FSI schedule). A completed project is not required for a successful presentation.
To get credit, the student must attend at least 6 teaching blocks, successfully present their work, and achieve a score of at least 50 points.
A completed or clearly successful project is not required for a successful presentation. What matters is that the student clearly presents their goals, work process, achieved results (including potential failure), explains possible reasons for failure, proposes further steps, and reflects on what they learned during the project. (The project can continue in the following semester.)
