Yellow flowers, the symbol of the national collection Czech Day Against Cancer, raised a total of CZK 14,460 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering this year. The donations will go towards the prevention and fight against the insidious disease. Students and employees could buy a flower directly at the Faculty on Wednesday 14 May.
The FME Campus Library was again a partner of the fundraiser, thanks to which the charity event took place on the premises of the faculty. "This year 230 flowers were sold thanks to all contributors. We raised CZK 11,746 in cash and another CZK 2,715 was received through QR payments. In total, this year's contribution amounted to a respectable CZK 14,460. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the collection," said Blanka Vintrová, the head of the library.
Donors received a leaflet with information about disease prevention with each flower. This year's campaign theme was screening programmes and colorectal cancer prevention.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the fight against this insidious disease!
