Enjoy Your Stay

Welcome to Brno!

Brno is the second-largest city in the Czech Republic and ranks among the top 30 European cities* in terms of quality of life. Its streets combine rich history, vibrant culture, and a thriving café scene. Its unique gastronomy, coffee culture, and cocktail scene have been recognised by international media such as The New York Times and The Guardian. Brno has gained international recognition for many other reasons, including major music festivals (Janáček Brno and JazzFestBrno) and its exceptional concentration of functionalist architecture, highlighted by Villa Tugendhat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visitors are also drawn to the medieval labyrinth beneath the city square, the Church of St James with the second-largest ossuary in Europe, and museums filled with technical and historical treasures, including the original painting Head of Medusa by Peter Paul Rubens.

As you explore the city, you will find plenty of green spaces and relaxing waterfront areas. You can unwind, for example, in Lužánky Park, founded in 1786 and the oldest public park in the Czech Republic, or at Brno Reservoir, which is easily accessible by public transport.

  • 400,000 residents
