Young women who have just joined the FME, together with those who have already achieved their first successes at the faculty – this is what the networking event Girls from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering brought together. The faculty organized it on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, under the auspices of Vice Dean Jana Hoderová as one of the events of the WellBeING. project.

"We have gathered here as women from FME, and that's all it means. You are just as good future engineers as your male colleagues. You don't have to prove or defend to anyone that you are talented, because you simply are," said Jana Hoderová as she welcomed the students at the beginning of the meeting.

Each of the participants had the opportunity to get to know the stories of 13 other women in a quick networking round. "It was amazing to see that although at the beginning the students stood alone or in pairs, by the end large groups had formed, which continued to debate enthusiastically even after the event was over. I see it as a great benefit that all the first-year students who came realized what a great community we have here and that it will support them when they need it," said Jana Hoderová.

The event brought everyone a number of new contacts, laughter, and aha moments. The participants enjoyed it so much that it will be continued in the new semester.
