The yellow flowers symbolizing the nationwide Czech Day Against Cancer fundraiser raised a total of CZK 17,823 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering this year. The donations will support cancer prevention and the fight against this serious disease. Students and staff could purchase the flowers directly at the faculty on Wednesday, 13 May, in the faculty foyer and in the following days at the Campus Library.
The FME Campus Library once again partnered with the fundraiser, helping to organize the charity event at the faculty for the fifth time. “This year, 246 flowers were distributed. Donors contributed CZK 11,583 in cash to the collection box and another CZK 6,240 via QR payments. The total amount raised this year therefore reached CZK 17,823. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed,” said Simona Havlíčková from the Campus Library, who coordinated the fundraiser at FME.
Along with each flower, donors received a leaflet containing information about cancer prevention. This year’s campaign focused on head and neck cancers and their prevention.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the fight against this serious disease!
