Personalities from the university, industry and talented students – this was the list of awardees who received the medal on Wednesday 4 June during the FME Scientific Council Ceremony. The event was held on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the faculty.
The ceremony was attended by leading representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology and representatives of other universities and mechanical engineering faculties from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Jiří Hlinka and the Vice-Rector of the Brno University of Technology Miroslav Doupovec gave their speeches. Subsequently, the faculty awarded important personalities who, through their many years of work in the field of education, science and service to society, have significantly contributed to the development and prestige of the faculty.
The Gold Medal in memoriam was awarded to Viktor Kaplan for his merits in the development of the faculty, its position and prestige in the Czech Republic and abroad. The award was accepted by the inventor's granddaughter Gerlind Weber, and seven other members of the Kaplan family watched in the ceremony hall.

Commemorative medals to FME employees or collaborators and students for long-term cooperation and exceptional contribution, activities supporting the development and prestige of the faculty and excellent representation were awarded in the following areas.
The following personalities were awarded for extraordinary contributions to organizational, pedagogical and scientific research activities and for activities supporting the development and prestige of the faculty:

The awards for long-term intensive cooperation connecting mechanical engineering faculties of leading technical universities went to:

The awards for long-term intensive academic and scientific research cooperation connecting top scientific workplaces represented by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic with our faculty were awarded to:
- Prof. Tomáš Kruml
- Prof. Ludvík Kunz
The following were awarded for excellent representation of the faculty:
- Ing. Filip Zubaľ and the Chicken Wings team
- Jan Kozelek and the TU Brno Racing team
- Ing. Čeněk Šváb and the Pneuracer team
- Daniel Romanowski and the strojLAB team
The Dean also awarded Memorial Diplomas to the following FME students for excellent results in the field of study:

The Technical University in Košice, with which FME has been cooperating for a long time, awarded the Gold Medal of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TUKE to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Brno University of Technology during the ceremony. The medal was personally handed over to the Dean of FME Jiří Hlinka by the Dean of SF TUKE Jozef Živčák.
