Bachelor Seminar (B-MTI)

FSI-FEM Acad. year: 2026/2027 Summer semester

In the seminar, students will learn the rules of construction of the technical text for the successful preparation of a bachelor's thesis. Furthermore, students will be practically prepared to defend the results obtained during the bachelor's thesis in the form of presentations, including substantive discussions in conditions simulating the state final exam.

During the seminar are utilised all knowledges from passed courses.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The condition for obtaining credit is participation in seminars and exhibiting the progress of the bachelor's thesis in the form of a presentation. Seminars are mandatory and attendance is checked. Any absence is compensated individually.

Aims

The aim of the course is to verify and expand students' abilities to work independently in the area of ​​preparing a final thesis at the bachelor's level of study. Acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in terms of the construction of a technical text, including the rules of BUT. Within the seminar, practical training in defending a bachelor's thesis is carried out to expand students' presentation and communication skills. Consulting assistance is provided by the course guarantor.

Syllabus

Basic information and instructions on the form of processing a bachelor's thesis, study schedule, completion of studies with a state final exam. Principles for constructing a final thesis from a content and formal point of view. Basic interpretation of the citation standard ČSN ISO 690. Use of AI during the preparation of a bachelor's thesis. Practical training in defending a bachelor's thesis in the form of presentations.
