Student team project 2
FSI-0SP2 Acad. year: 2027/2028 Summer semester
The course aims to guide students towards responsibility in teamwork and to develop their soft skills, especially in time management, communication, and presentation. It also focuses on supporting active students who are interested in team projects, student teams, or are members of student teams.
Students are encouraged and guided to actively ask questions, communicate, and verify the progress of the project with advisors (mentors). For consultations, they can use scheduled hours or arrange individual meetings. Help can be found from classmates, mentors, project patrons, and instructors. The purpose of the course is to provide students with space for assisted self-education in soft skills through challenge-based learning on complex or long-term projects that require involvement from multiple disciplines.
Teaching takes place in teams of 3–10 members working on a selected project topic. Scheduled class time is used by students to attend workshops, presentations, independent team work, or consultations with project patrons.
Students choose a topic from the list updated on August 31 and January 31 at the link below.
Alternatively, a topic can be proposed by a group of at least three students upon approval by the instructor. It is also possible and encouraged to continue working on a project developed in previous semesters – these projects are also listed in the topic list.
By signing up for a specific topic/project in the table, the student joins the project team.

For students outside FSI, it is necessary to select a project at the same time as enrolling in the course.
FSI students must choose a project no later than Friday of the 3rd week of the semester.
Students who are not registered for a project in a team of at least three members will not have their course registration recognized.

It is expected theoretical knowledge gained during the studies at secondary school. And motivation to do team projects.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
The student will receive course credit upon presenting their contribution to the project team and based on their continuous assessment during the course.
The presentation is delivered by the entire project team together. Teams may choose to present either in Week 13 of the semester or during the second week of the examination period (according to the FME academic calendar). Any exceptions are determined by the instructor. Changes in team composition are not and must not be considered an obstacle to participation in the presentation.
A successful presentation does not require the project to be completed or to have achieved unequivocally successful results. It is important that the student clearly describes their objectives, work process, and achieved results (including any unsuccessful outcomes), justifies the possible reasons for any lack of success, proposes potential next steps, and reflects on what they have learned during the project work. (The project may continue in the following semester.)
Continuous assessment during the course allows students to earn a score exceeding 100 points. A minimum of 50 points is required to obtain course credit. Points may be awarded for: attendance in scheduled classes, participation in student team activities, submission of project documentation, a poster, a project video presentation, promotion of the project on social media, organization of a workshop, and a practice presentation. Additional outputs and activities may also be assessed and approved by the instructor.
Aims
Graduates of the course will gain experience working in an interdisciplinary team. Depending on the choice of goals, they will gain experience in one or more areas: Project work, project support, team management.
The course will support project and creative thinking, planning skills, teamwork, assessment skills, communication, and presentation. It encourages an innovative approach to problem-solving.
