Original abstract

Influence of the superimposed normal stress on the shear strength along the 111 direction in {110} and {112} shear planes is studied from first principles for B2 (austenite) structure of NiTi alloy. The applied normal stress was considered to be both tensile and compressive. Obtained results reveal that 111 {110} slip system is more favorable for shear than 111 {112} system and that maximal shear stress almost linearly increases with increasing superimposed compressive normal loading.

Vliv superponovaného normálového napětí na smykovou pevnost ve směru [111] ve skluzových rovinách {110} a {112} je studován z prvních principů pro B2 (austenitickou) strukturu slitiny NiTi. Aplikované normálové napětí bylo tahové i tlakové. Získané výsledky odhalují, že skluzový systém [111] {110} pro smyk výhodnější než [111] {112} system a že maximální smykové napětí téměř lineárně roste s rostoucím tlakovým superponovaným normálovým napětím.
