Admission Fee

The deadline for an admission fee EUR 28 is April 7, 2026.

Admission Procedure

These required documents must be sent to the address of FME – deadline for non EU applicants in on May 15, 2026, deadline for applicants from EU is on August 17, 2026:

• To start bachelor's degree program is required to send the originals of certified translation copy of the secondary school diploma.
• To start master's degree program is required to send the originals of certified translation copy of the university bachelor diploma and the diploma supplement.
• Signed request form Assessment of foreign education.
• Another condition for admission to study is to achieve knowledge of English at the level of at least B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Applicant provides an international certificate as Cambridge B1 Preliminary, Cambridge B2 First, EILTS level 5 or 6, TOEFL 42–71 or 72–94. Applicants may also demonstrate their knowledge by providing a certificate from their secondary school or university confirming that the instruction was conducted in English. Applicants from countries where English is an official language automatically meet this requirement.

The entrance exam will take place on April 28, 2026 and consists of Mathematics and Physics to Bachelor's degree programmes and of Mathematics, Physics and Technical Mechanics to follow-up Master's degree programmes. It may be waived at the applicant's request after meeting one of the following conditions: the applicant ranked among the top 50 % (see https://www.scioexams.com) in the 2026 national comparative examination in General Study Prerequisites or in Mathematics. Tuition Fees, Scholarships, Living Expenses

Tuition fees are EUR 3 000 per academic year and are to be paid into the bank account of the FME after enrollment. Student will receive Request for payment.

Students with excellent study results are awarded a scholarship for study results in the range CZK 1 000 – CZK 3 000 (EUR 40 – EUR 120) per month as early as in the second year of the study.

The accommodation scholarship is CZK 550 (EUR 20) per month.

Enrollment

The enrollment instruction will be written in the Decision on admission to study.

Accommodation

Students can apply for accommodation in BUT dormitories. The online request for the academic year 2026/27 will be open from April. Students who have to apply for a visa are strongly encouraged to arrange for their accommodation well in advance

The deadline for an admission fee EUR 28 is November 5, 2025.

Admission Procedure

The acceptance of foreign students is specific and thus it is recommended:

• Choose the convenient topic from the list of offered topics, with the topic you choose a potential supervisor automatically.
• Contact directly the supervisor of the chosen topic (by an e-mail) and ask detailed information about the research topic.
• Send your application for the chosen topic to the Study Department by an e-mail.
• Acceptance procedure:
  • The entrance exam is oral for a maximum of 60 minutes, it verifies the knowledge in the chosen study programme and the prerequisites for independent scientific work. The entrance exam is scored 0–100 points. The minimum number of points for admission is 50. The entrance exam can be held remotely.
  • Scientific Board will evaluate your education and study history documented in your CV, as well as results of your scientific work (espec. list of publications).

Invitation to the exam or Acceptance Letter will be delivered by an e-mail.

Recognition, Assessment of Foreign Education

It is necessary to ask for nostrification of your previous University studies before starting the doctoral study (you will need verified copies of your Diploma and Diploma Supplement, list of the studied subjects and passed exams, all in English). If the documents are in original language, they must be translated into Czech.

The compulsory part of the application for the study programme in English is a document proving the achievement of the candidate's knowledge in English at the level of at least B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CERF).

Tuition Fees, Scholarships, Living Expenses

In case of a study program given in English, the tuition fees are EUR 3 000/year and the student does not obtain any scholarship. On request this tuition fee can be reduced for excellent students, or you can change to studying in the Czech language later after having passed a corresponding language exam.
