Originální abstrakt

Paper describes results of aggregate strength testing. Aggregates are produced from rubble. Main components of this rubble are particles from solid bricks. Changes of aggregate strength are observed after wetting and freeze-thaw cycles. After water saturation there is strength decrease up to 25% but this is normal situation for all ceramic masonry materials. And solid brick is a member of this group. Freeze-thaw resistance has to be evaluated on the basis of the screening test. The obtained strength is not objective because broken particles fill empty space in aggregates and this can increase cylinder compression strength of aggregates. But it is not possible assume that aggregates will be freeze-thaw resistant when original material – solid bricks are not usually freeze-thaw resistant.
